Located on Place Eugene Boudin (next to the hat maker), behind the Town Hall (« Hotel de Ville »), the large white building on the old port.

Visitor Tariffs

Navigation chart for arriving in Honfleur

  1. Buoys 4-5 (Ratier NW) : Enter the Rouen channel. (VHF lookout on Channel 73 for traffic control tower). The ideal time to enter the channel is HW (Le Havre) -3 hours for a favourable current and free flow through open lock.
  2. After Buoys 6-7 (Amfard SW) : Stay about 15 m (50 feet) to the north of the red buoys, until reaching Buoy 20.
  3. North of Buoy 20 : Stay north of Buoy 20 and prepare to cross the channel without impeding commercial shipping (VHF 73). Wait north of the channel facing the lock (Lock control VHF 17). Do not cross the shipping channel until the lock displays the green light and do not impede shipping traffic.

Honfleur Lock

02 31 98 72 82 – VHF 17 – 24/7.

Lock length 36 m (118 ft) and width 23 m (75 ft).

Lock operates 24 hours 7 days a week.

Port entry is on the hour. Port exit is 30 minutes past the hour.

Only enter the lock when the light is green.

In general, both sets of lock gates remain open (free flow) from HW -1.5h to HW, when tide coefficients (ie tidal range) and weather allow.

Where to moor on arrival

There are 2 visitor mooring options:

  1. Moor (rafting if necessary) on the « Jardin Public » pontoon located 300 m (300 yds) on the right after passing through the lock.
  2. Moor on the pontoon fingers (at Quai St Catherine) in the Old Port, « Vieux Bassin ». Moorings are indicated on the right after passing the drawbridge – « pont de la Lieutenance ».

Temporary mooring is also possible at the quay on the right in front of the Lieutenance drawbridge while waiting for the appointed time to enter the Vieux Bassin.

All other moorings need prior permission from the port authority, the CNH.

Moorings at the Jardin Public pontoon

Located on the right, after passing through the lock.

Rafting if necessary.

Water and electricity (6 and 16 amps) outlets are available.

Available water draft is 3 m (9.8 ft).

There is a security gate with an access code for returning to the walkway and the pontoon. The code is displayed on the walkway side to the right of the gate. The code will also be provided by the marina office when mooring fees are paid.

Lieutenance Bridge (access to Old Port, « Vieux Bassin »)

Width 10.5 m (34 ft), water draft 3 m (9.8 ft).

Manoeuvre boat near bridge at least 10 minutes before the opening time, otherwise the bridge may not be opened.

Opening times:

  • 1 May to 1 September (7days/week) : 8:30am, 9:30am, 10:30am, 11:30am, 3:30pm, 4:30pm, 5:30pm, 6:30pm.
  • 2 September to 30 April (Monday to Friday) : 8:30am, 11:30am, 2:30pm, 5:30pm.
  • 2 September to 30 April (Saturday, Sunday and public holidays) : 8:30am, 9:30am, 10:30am, 11:30am, 2:30pm, 3:30pm, 4:30pm, 5:30pm.

Mooring in the Old Port (« Vieux Bassin »)

The only access to the Vieux Bassin is under the Lieutenance Bridge. (See above for opening times.)

Manoeuvre in front of the bridge at least 10 minutes before the opening time to enter or leave the Vieux Bassin, otherwise the bridge may not be opened. Wait for the green light. Departing boats are given passage before boats entering. The bridge is lowered after last boat enters.

Visitor moorings are on the pontoon fingers on the right, along the St Catherine Quay.

Water and electricity (16 amps) outlets are available.

Water draft is 3 m (9.8 ft).

Note that other berths are reserved for annual lease holders.

The use of tenders in the Vieux Bassin is not permitted.

By accessing the Port of Honfleur, users agree to comply with the port regulations.

Upon arrival

After mooring, please contact CNH by calling 02 31 98 87 13 (8:00am to 8:00pm) or emailing cnh14@wanadoo.fr and provide your boat name and mooring location. A marina agent will contact you.

You can also register, confirm your mooring and pay on line at www.cnh-honfleur.net

You will then receive the access codes for the sanitary and diesel facilities and the Jardine Public pontoon access code.

Toilet and shower facilities

Open 24/7, the access code is available at the marina office after online or other payment. Access is free.

The facilities are located opposite the Jardin Public pontoon at the carpark entry.

Note that washing dishes is not permitted.

Electricity

The Jardin Public pontoons have outlets of 6 and 16 amps 220 volts.

The Vieux Bassin pontoons have outlets of 16 amps 220 volts.

Water

Water is available at both the Jardin Public and the Vieux Bassin pontoons. Male adaptors are available at the port office. (Purchase for €7 or borrow one with a €10 refundable deposit.)

Garbage

Jardin Public: a bin is located on the footpath on Boulevard Charles V, facing the Jardin Public entry, 10 m (10 yrds) to the right of exiting the shower block. Separated glass is also accepted.

Vieux Bassin: the bin is a large white wooden box, located on the Quai de la Poissonnerie, facing Rue de la Republique. (Glass deposit is not available here.)

Wifi

WiFi is only available in the Vieux Bassin.

Login and password are available at the marina office.

Diesel

The diesel pump (no petrol or gasoline) is located at the “quai du Transit.” This quai is on the left before the East Bridge (« pont de l’Est »).

Available 24/7, using debit or credit card (« Carte Bleue »). The pump control panel is located behind a metal curtain (on the left) opened using an access code which is available when registering at the marina office.

Waste oil and « black » water

Telephone 02 31 14 68 42 or VHF 17 to access the disposal facility at the quai du Transit, which is on the left before the East Bridge (pont de l’Est).

The column marked « Open » contains the hours when the both lock gates are open (free flow) from HW-1.5h until HW.
