Due to the strong Seine currents, it is recommended that you enter the Seine channel between low tide plus 1.5 hours and high tide minus 1.5 hours. In order not to disturb the commercial traffic of the Seine you must sail to the northern side of the northern channel markers (be aware of the sea wall to port). Then cross the channel at right angles directly opposite the lock (at buoy #20 – radar tower).

Boats that are not of an admissible size for the Old Basin can stay the night alongside the quai or the pontoons opposite the public gardens on your right as you enter the port (200 metres on the right having passed through the lock).

Once inside the lock, there is always water in the port (does not dry out). However, the water level varies according to sea levels: contact the lock manager (+33 (0) 2 31 98 72 82 or VHF channel 17) to check the water depth

The Old Basin (Vieux Bassin) is the marina of Honfleur. Boats must moor alongside each other on the visitors pontoon on the right hand side of the Old Basin as you go in (under a lifting bridge). Boats 14 metres or more in length are not admitted to the Old Basin and are invited to moor up 200 metres beyond the lock entrance, alongside the quai or on the pontoons with water and electricity.

Contact the lock manager for times of the lifting bridge also.
